  • XJ11 front Chromed badge

Trying to detail the front badge on the XJ11, the large chrome one below the headlight. There's a textured area behind the lettering that I can't ID what it originally looked like; was it solid black or maybe dark gray background? I need to know what color ink to get.

    Thanks

Black, it only looks gray from the sun beating on it for 30 years.

      Repainting

When I repainted mine, I covered whole front in wide maskng tape and used Xacto knife to trim letters and rim. Then spray background.
