  • Replace cap from head stud

I'd like to clean up a few caps on the head, one that screws onto head studs. To do this I'll have to remove the cap. Is there any issue with removing it and then torquing it back to specs afterward if I do one at a time?

    Thanks

I'm no engine mechanic, but if it were me, I'd check the manaul and take all of them off together, clean them up then put them back all at the same time in accordance with the torque/step sequence in the manaul.

One at a time may sound like a good idea, but what if the head doesn't like that?
It's not like you're pulling the head off, heck the gasket probably won't even get disturbed, but why take the chance of even slightly warping your head.

Shouldn't be a problem one at a time, a lot of owners have done this. Put some oil on the threads before re-torquing though.

Don't see a problem but I would tend to agree with George, do them all at once and retorque properly.
