    Sounds like you have either shift fork bent or what we call the second gear problem, which means the drive dogs on the gears are rounded and pop out of gear. When the dogs get rounded and it starts to pop out of gear (or sometimes slips out then re-engages) previous owners have been know to try and hold it in with the shifter and end up bending a fork... The gear set can be removed without splitting the case and can be repaired with a Dremel and a 12 pack.

        If I had the time I would ride out and give you a hand but I cant even find the time to ride. Stick in there and we'll help ya through it. There is a nice write up on how to solve the problem.

          thanks for all the encouragement guys!!..ill have to study up before i try the second gear fix..i will keep you guys posted...felt so good to ride this thing..even if it was only in first gear..lol...impressed myself and some neighbors..haha
