    Hi Irukandji,
and didja see how much the shipping costs were on those gas taps?
At least 4X the actual USPS rate.
Effin' rogues, I'd take my business elsewhere.

      That's why

I want to get the combined shipping for buying the tank.
Still, is the tank the one everybody would like for touring distances.
It does have the more straight front line rather than the curved type decal.

Yeah it's the big one alright.
The 81 standard tanks are the big ones.

Did you read the write up about shipping outside the US and how 3 times they tried to ship tanks and customs stopped it?

+1 on those shipping costs. Maybe if you lived close enough, you could arrange for local pick up and waive the shiping costs.

Yes the customs would think its a BIG bomb. Shipping for the tank seems resonable, No?

If you already have an 81H model, no worries. If you don't, you will need the model H bars to clear the tank, else the earlier bars will look funny tilted upwards to clear the taller tank!

Skids, did you swap bars to fit your bigger tank? I didn't need to touch the bars at all when i installed the big tank on my 80 standard.
The bars from my 80g and 81h have the same part number and look the same. I wonder what the larger bars look like- anybody have a picture?

                What about

                the XS1100sg?

I think I could get the bars if really needed but, now you got me wondering that the tank wont fit on the 80sg. Will it fit?

A number of after market bars or older Goldwing bars will fit so n o problem if you don't like the fit or look of the bars you have.
                      I think mine are Goldwing.

I had to use the H bars over the H tank with my E-models. I may have aftermarket bars on those E's however (not sure). I can tell you that the H tank is taller and the H bars are taller to match! YMMV

                          Hi GLoweVA,
too much information! Have the good sense to steam clean the gas tank before you ship it but what you say on the customs declaration is "Used motorcycle part"

change the bars? I got a standard tank on my special and still have the special bars... they clear very well. Do the standard bars have a different angle than the special bars or something?

Not entirely correct...the Standards had a 5 gal tank and the 81H was the Venturer 6 gal. tank...
