    WANTED: Picture of kickstarter internal gears!

    As many have probably noticed, I've been trying to assemble interchange guides for the various parts on the XS/XJ bikes. What I need is a pic of the kickstart gears as seen with the oil pan removed of a '78-79 motor with the full gear/ratchet set installed. As an example, here's a '80 motor with the partial set (but lacking the ratchet assembly)....

    80 SG Ol' Okie;79 engine & carbs w/pods, 45 pilots, 140 mains, Custom Mac 4 into 2 exhaust, ACCT,XS850 final drive,110/90/19 front tire,TKat fork brace, XS750 140 MPH speedometer, Vetter IV fairing, aftermarket hard bags and trunk, LG high back seat, XJ rear shocks.

          Those are good pics Doug but they don't have the early model kickstart componants Steve is looking for. That looks like an 80 or 81.

            Crap I grabbed the wrong one. I will take some of the correct one in a few minutes. Sorry bout that.

                    Only hurt my pride when I took pics of the wrong ones... ... If you need other angles or shots let me know as that motor will not live again in the cases it is in as they are cracked. I do have other cases here so I may rebuild it yet but I doubt it.
