This is quite an old thread... you're obviously not checking in often enough. Serves you right
well I'm new so I'll plead ignorance (probably get away with it too) so checked bearing and all is good, and to make up for not doing it earlier here's some pics, yes black murder paint job but fixable next fall, well now my fuse box replacement just got here so it back to the shed... thanks TC
got CB750 bars on the way too but those 450 bars are close to the same minus crossbar and a little less pull back the the 750s may take it out and see how it does in the dirt lol

I'd still invest in a spare bearing if you can afford it. It's the only truly unobtanium part for these bikes. All other stuff is readily available and often better than OEM....
XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. Progressive front springs. Geezer regulator/rectifier. Stainless 4 into 2 exhaust. Auto CCT (Venturer 1300) SOLD. New project now on the go. 1980 European model.

If it were TRUE unobtainium then you wouldn't be able to sell all the ones that you have! :P

The fellow is doing everyone who reads this forum a favour. For the most part when I log in I see more lurkers than actual members. Unobtanium is a different thing for most people than say "Jay Leno" as he can afford to have them custom built. I have 4 bearings here and they are all mine until I run out of bikes that need them. Then I will still save one for myself. Just cause you do not currently need/want one does not make them any rarer. I tried for over a year to get one here, including talking to company reps who could not help me. My thanks to James for this!!!

Haha! Are you saying I should make it truly unobtanium?

            Jayel thanks for the pictures.

James At least collect names, up the cost by a decent percentage and if you feel uncomfortable pocketing the money, make a donation to XS11. I thank you and many people here for their efforts with hard to find parts.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

You are welcome, kind sir, and it's nice to know that my efforts are appreciated. What you said re looking for a year shows me how lucky I was to find a NOS one on eBay after a mere 6 weeks of daily checking. I was thrilled and happy to cough up over $100 too!
