I have been looking at pics of a lot of stock bikes on this forum. I have noticed the coil on the rear shock is set to be long. The bike I just got has the adjustment on the shock so the coil is at the shortest. I see there is an adjustment. Can that be adjusted so the coil does not have as much tension on it. I plan on riding two once in a while but the way it is I feel every bump.

Yes, the spring preload is adjustable. The lower sleeve can be rotated with a large channel lock pliers. There is a specific tool for adjusting the preload but chances are good that you don't have it. Pliers will work fine, just make sure both sides are on the same setting.2H7 (79) owned since '89
