  • Dumpster Diving

again today. Was looking for a couple fuel T's and found a set of mikuni triples. T's are identical along with several other parts including the diaphrams and butterflies. Spent the day salvaging what I could re use. Funny thing though, the carb bodies seem to be a hi-bred of the 78/79 and 80/81 carbs. No pilot crossover tunnel but the fuel valves are threaded and the venting is the same as the 80/81 's. The emulsion tubes are different but the mains and pilots are the same. Weird. Anyway if anybody needs some 750 or 850 triple emulsion tubes , I got three I can mail out.

The XS850 I have in my shed is all stock and came with the Keihin carbs. There were several pieces in the bowls that were made of steel.. which has rusted to crap. At some point, when the guy finally gets around to signing over the title to me, I'm going to look for a set of Mikunis off of a triple to put on it.

        Mikuni's

Well the only triples I knew of were the 750 and 850's. I just assumed the carbs were the same. But then again. I once assumed I was going to fart..... I'll let you figure out the rest. If you want trbig, I can spend some time on these carb bodies and send them down to you. Post's are good. If you do a little diving at your local. Dealer you might find another set and can piece together a good set. I've put together a couple banks of 78/79 carbs this way.

I appreciate it, but by the time I bought all the pieces, I most likely would have been better off just getting a complete set off of Fleabay, or someone from the triples site.

If that kind of stuff is in the dumpster... I'd keep on diving that thing!

Actually, the closest to the 1100 is the 850 triple. Both motors use the same piston.
