  • Rear wheel spacer dimensions?

Can someone with a special and a set of calipers get me the size dimensions of the rear wheel spacer? I seem to have misplaced mine, and I've got a lathe and some material handy, just wanna make sure I get it the right length. Thanks y'all!

#2 in that pic. BTW, the pic is also very helpful to me, thanks!

Hopefully someone has a 16" rear wheel off of their bike that can measure the spacer for you. It should be fairly easy to access, the right side bearing is a non press in fit and can be removed with just a snap ring pliars.

I wondered if that showed #2 going into the wheel... maybe I just have a few screws loose... I haven't disassembled the wheel... but I have a sizeable gap between the wheel and the swingarm... maybe I just need to go get another look at it...

            "70mm length spacer (20mm I.D.)"

It came up in this thread on the Australian forum, that time round the gap was caused by the Brake Torque Plate being forgotten.

Hm. Maybe I'm just confused. Between the caliper bracket and the wheel I have a gap of an estimated 2cm... I can see the axle... I have all the things shown in the fiche I think. Am I supposed to have a gap?

My 1980 MNS has a gap there as well. On the Specials, the spacer is part of the caliper mtg. bracket, and the Standard i believe is separate. I think!!!!!

There shouldn't be a space there. There is a spacer that sits against the wheel that OS thicker on the special than it is on the standard (part # 33 in the fiche). The caliper bracket is same on.both the standard and the special.

Maybe someone could get me a pic of a properly assembled rear, I think #33 may be what I'm skipping... that piece doesn't come off with the wheel does it?

Part #33 can be easily lost, it will stay with the wheel when removed from the bike, but will easily fall off when say changing the tire.

Yep, that's it, #33 is what I am missing. So can someone measure theirs for me to create a replica? Thanks a ton fellas!

                            OD (dust seal) 2.00"
OD (against the caliper bracket) 1.42"
Distance from seal end to dust seal .50"

Thanks Steve! I figure I could rip it out on the lathe in 1/20th the time it'd take for andreas to mail it...
