    Has anyone used metal rescue?

    Hi Guys,

The rust in my tank is starting to bother me. I just changed all of my fuel lines to the yellow tygon line and though the gas runs clear through them I think it's time to get rid of the rust. Has anyone used "metal rescue"? If so, did you remove the fuel sender when cleaning the tank? I am going t remove the petcocks and gas tank cap and basically follow the directions in this video if I try it but just wanted to know if anyone used this actual product with good results. Thanks in advance.

Funny you ask this I was just looking at that product in Menards paint isle because I'm debating treating my rusty tank myself or just having a shop dip it since I'm going to respray it anyhow.

Thanks for the video I had not thought to look it up on youtube.

I have yet to use it in a fuel tank, but I bought a gallon and I've tried it out. It works just as advertised.

I ended up using "evaporust" since it was available locally. It was $20 for 1 gal. I am very pleased with the results.

Do you mind me asking what size line you used?
Hill? What hill? I didn't see any hill! Why wasn't there a sign? And where are my keys?

I used yellow tygon 1/4" (inner diameter) fuel line. I tried the 3/16" but it was too much of a struggle to get it on and it felt like I was going to break something. I noticed that the 1/4 fit snug but after the 1st ride it loosened up a bit so I am using clamps on the lines. Tygon is flexible and easy to work with.
