  • my newly converted Cafe Racer

    Hello, thanks for the registration,,,,this is my XS11 1980 Special, newly converted to a Cafe Racer bike,,,ive been to some place now riding this bike but still the Carburetor is leaking after a long day ride.....replace the needle seat valve and clean the card a hundred times until my hands hurt and still leaking!!

      Welcome and yes pls more pics...closer too. This bike is done right for cafe' style...glad to see you didnt cut the frame and make a hardtail out of it...I like the paint work too. check your floats...

        The o ring on the seat where it fits into the body is where they usually leak on those late carbs.

          1979 XS1100SF "Old Man" bought by my Dad brand new in 79, customized in 80 with Vetter, Standard tank, and touring seat. I inherited in 02 when Dad passed. Been riding it since 09. No resto, bike is a survivor...

            No that is a very respectably modified bike! Pretty comparable to T99's bikes!

                thanks guys

                after cleaning the gas tank and removing the pit cock and clean everything, no more leaking..... synchronize again and my only problem after all the sync has been done,,,1 & 4 Plug is a little bet lean....

                  Sweet Cafe!

                  It's very similar to what I had planned for my 79 Special but my big old stock seat is really messing up the look. What'd you do for your seat? Also, are those clipon handlebars? I had a clubman type (I guess?) bar that came with my bike that was pretty much straight but had a slight bend and this weekend and turned the bars down so the bends are pointing downwards and look like cafe bars.

                              Nice job!

                              Still planning to cafe 1 of my 79 specials.
                              Was for sure going to use standard tank, but kinda like your look with the special tank.

                              Great job on the seat. I bought an aftermarket cafe seat platform. Just gotta do it. Looks great!
