  • Mike's XS Supports XS 1100 !!!

    Got a periodic email flyer from Mike's XS... Maybe this is old stuff, but new to me.

    They have come out of the closet, and openly support the XS 11 now, and we can come out of the closet when we order and be honest about our choice in bikes...

    From the flyer: "That's right, for the first time ever, we're expanding our compatibly information beyond the XS650 to include the XS360/400, XS750/850/1100, SR500, and the RD350/400. You can always find the parts that fit your bike by using our Product Search. "

      For me, Mikes XS can keep their spares. The person who e-mailed me when I enquired had no manners whatosever and I won't be buying anything off them.
      XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. Progressive front springs. Geezer regulator/rectifier. Stainless 4 into 2 exhaust. Auto CCT (Venturer 1300) SOLD. New project now on the go. 1980 European model.

        Dang, I was a day late and a dollar short, so to speak on my announcement.

        I understand they were not cordial to some folks when they didn't officially sell to the XS 1100 crowd.

        I ordered a healight/turn signal cluster switch for an XS650 to canniballize
        the internals to fix the broken headlight switch on my 80SG, and it worked to perfection, even called once to ask about shocks, and they were helpful, no issues with them myself.

          i appreciated their stock when i found they had the idle mix screw o'rings and washers which i believe are rare, and it saved my carbs. but my experience wasnt that pleasurable, but i eventually got what i ordered.
          if they have what i cant find elsewhere, ill buy from them. i think they need a more service oriented, new staff. its great to see they support our bikes!

            James, Mikes XS was bought out by another company so the person who emailed you probably isn't there anymore.

              shipping too high

              I bought an oil seal from them this week that i really couldn't find anywhere else.
              The seal might weigh an ounce 7 has about 1&1/2 in diameter.
              Mikes xs would only ship this item ups at their minimum shipping rate of $12.--.
              Could have gone via USPS for less than $1.00.

                Yeah Tom, I've run into that before with other places too. They have a minimum shipping charge. Can't remember who it was now but I had to pay a $6 shipping charge for a $2 kickstart shaft seal. I think it was Partsnmore.

                  Mike Lalonde sold his Mike's XS business several months ago. The new owners seem eager to expand their reach. I don't think you'll hear, "NO PARTS FOR YOU!" anymore when you inquire about an XS.anything.

                    I never really had to deal with their staff, but I know a few years back when getting parts for my 650 they were efficient. Having been bought out, I guess it is a moot point though. I just hope they dont get over eager, and start being sloppy with sending out wrong parts and not handling mix ups and mistakes properly.
