D!#$head kicked over my bike....

    D!#$head kicked over my bike....

    If i can find who did it they will be drinking through a straw for a long time....i managed to fix most everything, however i found that my stator cover is missing a bolt at the bottom has a hairline crack in it, and appears to have a small hole where the cover meets the motor...it almost looks like a drain hole...

    heres a pic of the crack ( the hole is small in this pic, at the very bottom)...



    and the hole(the crack seems to travel to it, where the bolt is missing from)...



    so can I jb weld it, or does the stator cover have to replaced?

    The hole is supposed to be there. Right there is a oil galley plug that is being held in by the cover. The hole is the I guess to let any oil that may leak past the plug to get out.

      Hairline crack

      I had something similar to that and I cleaned it up and cut a little more away from the crack but left it rough so the JB weld had something to adhere to and then smoothed it over and painted it. It's been 7 months and no problems.

        The clearance between the rotor and stator is pretty small. I hope there wasn't any deformation of the casing. The top pic looks like more that just a tip-over. Did that happen with this event or something prior?

          They're cheap

          cheap & easy to replace.

          Your damage looks like jb on the outside is all you need. But, to be safe, I'd get one from ebay & replace it.

            yea it was a tip over, well, a kick over...i rode it after and its fine...well...jb weld it is...

                    That wouldn't be a good idea for me. Hard to explain to the judge why you killed someone over damaging some of your personal property. The "News" media would be all over that.."Poor, innocent, unarmed (Enter ethnic origin here) man shot down due to hate crime."


                    Covers are easy to replace. That one didn't appear to be "Pristine" anyway, so use it as an excuse for a chance for a spruce-up.

                      Sorry about the kickover, but we just have to hope that who ever done it contracts a rare form of incurable foot/leg disease, that renders the unable to lift their leg.
