    Racer 1 exhaust?

I got a nice looking exhaust for my 78. It is NOS Racer 1 by Dick's Cycle West. It is flat black with a nice red tip on the tailpipe.

Has anyone heard of them? The company is long gone. I'm looking forward to hearing it, but I should get the bottom end together first. I don't post often but I always enjoy the insight found here.

Once you un-can a can of worms, the only way to re-can them is with a bigger can.

          Racer 1 Exhaust

Back in 1975 I had a 1974 RD350 with Racer 1 chambers, they even had the red tips. Back in the day they were the best performing, and sounding pipes you could buy for the RD350-RD400. I've never seen a set on an XS1100. If they perform, and sound anything like they did on the RDs, you'll be 'luvin em.

          Regards,
          Mike Hamren

A picture??? ok...I will give it a shot, it should be easier than 1000 words. I bought this last summer but had to pack up my whole life and move to a house without a heated shop I hope to have my ducks in a row soon and get back to my bikes. I received the XS in a box, so it should be interesting. I am sure I will be asking a lot of advise before I get to hear this exhaust.

I paid a 100 bucks for this exhaust. (headers not in pic) bought from ebay with no one else bidding. I hope I am lucky and not a sucker lol.

Your pic isn't going to show because it's posted to a 'limited access' site. Try opening a Photobucket account and posting it as a 'public' pic...

Looks fairly well engineered. When I saw this post I googled dick's racer 1 and it appears that they were a pretty small company, mostly focusing on Honda cb speed parts and a few really neat fiberglass tanks...
