  • Looking for a good link for the 850 final swap

    Hi all
Looking for a good link for the final swap. 1 is missing pix and the alternate seems to no longer exist at that other place. Any help would be appreciated. My 850 final arrived today. I probably won't complete it this weekend although I may get everything torn apart. I have 2 bikes so the 1100 can be down for a couple days/week.
    Thanks
    John

It shows a 750 type 1 but the instructions ar the same. Except the pinion gear won't fall out.

I didn't realize y'all had one with pics. Cody let his Photobucket account expire and the pics were all gone last I looked.

I had it saved on a file and put it up on .org.

At the top of the thread in the Modifications which does not have the pics there is a link to click on that takes you to the one I posted. It is not that clear and is in blue but is one of the first words on the thread. I simply clicked on that and copied/pasted it.

Hmmm. I guess "Y'all" would be the members of XS11. I am also guessing by the use of Y'all that you also mean that we are seperate from you. I am also guessing that "we" are not even close in the running as you were considerate enough to post it on .Org but not here, Do you not consider yourself to be a bonifide and contributing member of this site? Sure we had the pics and the fix documented, but you did not know this. The wording of your post just makes me feel all warm and squishy...NOT !

Thanks all for the link! Has anyone changed the vent plug on the top? The seller packaged my final poorly and the vent plug on top is damaged. If they can be removed without destroying them I could move the one over from the 1100 final that's coming out. I think I'm going to pull the swingarm and check the swingarm bearings and repaint the assembly. As a general rule whenever I work on something I try to leave it looking better than when I started. Well at least its a goal.

You have a genuine hate for that site don't you.

                  I don't understand why Doug.

I am sorry if my wording offended you in any way. I will try to be more careful in the future......just for you buddy.

And, yes I do consider myself a "bonified" contributing member of any site I'm on otherwise I wouldn't be there. As long as the information is readily available does it really matter what site you have to go to to get it? Are there any other sites you despise so much that you fly into convulsions whenever it's even mentioned?

                  GEEZE!!!!........take a chill pill.

Looks like the swap is next weekend. I got tied up working on the fairing yesterday. Found some cracks in it from a PO accident so I pulled it and welded the cracks plus the holes behind the turn-signals (for Vetter horn upgrade). Was wondering why my insides were wet.

Anyway drug the final into the house and got the holes plugged and washer installed. This can cure this week.

Probably not absolutely necessary, but I always put a couple drops of locktite blue on the pinion nut shaft threads just for peace of mind.
