Stupid question guys. Is it acceptable to mount a bias belted front with a bias rear? I can't find anything that says not to but really don't like to even mix brands, let alone two different designs. Bought a new pair, front must have a defect in the cord. Shakes bad at highway speeds. Won't buy anther and hope it's better.
Thanks for any help in advance.

    They should run fine together.

What is the tire your having trouble with? I see that your on an SF. What condition are the front forks in? Have you got the air pressure even in the forks?

Are the steering head bearings in good shape?

Oh yea, front forks are good, air pressure is within 1/4 pound of each other. Tire is Bridgestone Spitfire. Professionally mounted and balanced. I even installed some Dynabeads, very little help. Dealer I bought them from out of business. Tried twice to contact Bridgestone, they ignore me. Won't EVER buy another.

Take those stupid dynabeads out! I would take it back to where it was balaced before and have it rechecked.

Are you getting a hop or a wobble?

Getting a "hop". I can feel it as a slight hump in the tire at 15/20 mph. Can't take it back as dealer is gone. Have rechecked balance (static) myself. Tire is round (.028, checked with DTI at center of tread, tire unloaded ), which is pretty darned good for a tire. I've run into this (in cars) before, never in a bike tire. Think there is something wrong with cord. Dyna beads did help, some. Raised severe vibration from 63 to about 68. I can change the shake with tire pressure, some. With 40 psi it's almost gone but bike doesn't like that (gets a bit unstable at speed. Also transmits shock from normal road hazards (chewing gum wrappers, match book covers, etc) and minor road imperfections into the bars.
Sorry for the dumb question. I'm gettin old, don't trust my own judgement anymore. Didn't think I'd have a problem with the belted front but just wasn't sure. Thanks guys.
