    Well here it is

Bike looked really decent but I was very suspect of the carbs they did not look right to me. I don't know enough to tell or what effect the carbs that are on there have. Or if it is even possible to get the right ones? I was just not feeling right about this and thanked him for his time I still thought the bike was a great deal but the carbs really were concerning and was going to leave

He asked me if I would take it for $400 that works We loaded it in my truck as I was leaving he also gave me the stock seat in perfect condition I did not even know he had it til we made the deal

Good on you! Give us some pictures. Crazy Steve just posted a tutorial on identifying the carburetors. Perfect timing!

+1 looking @ the bowl angle they look like something off a more modern sport bike. The cylinder head angle is alot more forward and the carbs sit @ an angle and or down draft... I'd like to see a bigger picture before I can be sure.

Those don't look like any I've ever seen before. I see the vac. advance line running into a Y. Where is it connected?

                      Vac advance

The vac advance runs off the Y to carb boot 2 and 3. The petcocks were changed and the ocotpus is gone I have the original octupus and petcocks PO gave me in a box of parts. This bike runs strong with these weird carbs starts great but smokes like crazy seems to run rich the smoke is white not blue.
Hoping a carb change will help I would like to go stock air box ? would you leave the petcocks or go back to the octo?
Thanks to BA80 for a great carb find!!! can't wait to get them

With the line hooked to the boots it's running full vacuum advance at idle. That will probably make it run very hot and rough at idle and might be a little difficult starting from a stop.

Not to mention fuel mileage and popping exhaust on decel.

Yeah, it's supposed to connect to a ported vacuum port on the #2 carb and there is no vacuum to it at idle ( closed throttle ). The octy, if you re install it, hooks to the port on the #2 boot.
