    uh oh!

Well.... I was feeling real good about finally syncing the carbs. Then I decided to fine tune as I thought it was running a little rich because of the exhaust. Well I went to turn out and found that all the needles were seated except for #1. Now all the pipes are barely warm to the touch except for #1.

    What damage did I do?

Damage? No damage, except to your free time!

Turn the pilot screws out 1.5 turns to start with, then resynch, and then retune, you should get all 4 pipes getting hot then.

I was once advised not to run the motor too lean for too long because it could damage the motor. And since I was having a hell of a time with synch/tune coupled with the fact that I found oil in the plugs, no vacuum in #3 and luke warm pipes and this neophyte ASSumed the worst.
Have now discovered a couple of vacuum leaks, low settings on #'s 3&4.
Will take care of leaks and start anew, feeling better now that I think I know what I'm doing.
