    Ok so I fight this monster and I really don't like the effort I have to fight so what is the easiest way to remoove and reinstall the carbs on a 79 xs11 special???

    Anyone who owns one of these things knows it's no easy feat but a manual helps. Basically (if it's the same as an 80, you need to drop the bottom half of the air box. then take ot the boltsholding the top half in place so it can be moved back a little. Undo your clamps on both the input and output side of the carbs, separate the from the cylinder side by twisting them down a bit and pulling them back, then do the same thing pretty uch from the airbox side. You ned to take the throttle cable off before you get to this point and any hoses that connect the carbs to the tank/engine. The manual does a reasonably decent explanation and you can get a download version of the manual on here.
