Ive been seeing alot of fork braces on ebay. Is there a difference between std and special when it comes to the daytona brace?

I can't say specifically for Daytona, but I know Telefix has a standard and a special fork brace and I think Ken Talbot's fork braces also comes in two versions. So I would say that there has to be an important difference.Gisle Vestergaard

The inner tube on a special is 1mm thinner, but the fork brace attaches to the outer tube which is the same. The special one needs to be taller to clear the fender so tkat's brace comes in two versions. I think you could use the taller one on a standard but it would not look as good. Why not email whoever makes them (not the ebay seller) and ask?Gary Granger

Unless I am on crack, which does occasionally happen I admit, the diameter on the outer tube is actually different. I had special forks and a special brace and when I switched back to standard forks, the special brace wouldnt fit so I had to replace it with another Tkat masterpiece.1979 XS11F Standard - Maya - 1196cc (out of order)

The fork dust seal area on a Special is a little larger in diameter. That's also why special for dust seals won't work on standard.
