while working on carbs today I left the petcock on prime (about 2hrs) and #1 started leaking, soaked the pod and dripped down onto engine. Did I possibly hurt the starter? Hopefully I did not damage the filter element on the pod. Have it soaking in dishwash liquid now. All the other carbs held up. Did I miss something on my rebuild with #1?

Make sure you set the second tab on each of the floats that controls how far they can drop. They only need to drop a very short distance and if they drop too far can cause the needle valve to jam in the seat which can require that you tap the carbs with a hammer handle as the carbs fill, but it WLL happen again if you don't fix the problem, which is possibly the float dropping too far.
