    Yes, the petcocks do tend to leak from the prime opening. They are very easy to repair though and a lot cheaper than different types of petcocks. I fought with the whole thing until I just got a rebuild kit (about $14 if I remember correctly) and rebuilt the both of them in about 20 minutes.

    Good on Brent for coming to the rescue!! Knowing Brent it does not surprise me to find out he did that.

    If there are more than three bolts holding it on there, it is most likely a very important part!

      I know you're right about fixing what's there. I can repair or replace the entire stock system for the price of one Pingel petcock installion. Also, it's important to note that the vacuum shutoff (octopus) offers no protection from a petcock leaking from the "PRIME" port.
