    Swingarm modification

Hi guys, I have been all over the web looking for info on how to switch out my xs11 rear end to chain drive. I know, there are alot of you out there who think I'am nuts but I'am wanting to take off some weight, and this is one of the best ways. With chain drive I could use any number of rear
rims, as well as replace that heavy drive shaft with a swingarm that weights one third the weight. I know the drive is well built an made to last, but it means more to me to be able to take off some weight, as well as be able to use alot of different rear rims and tires, I don't mind buying a new chain every year. I found this picture on xs11oo.com I wish I could find out how to get intouch with the guy who ownes this bike, looks like what I want to do on the rear of my bike. If any of you know how to find this guy or where I could go to get more info on this change over please post a reply.

Several of the hard-core, genius VMax dragracers used to make
the drive-shaft to chain-drive conversion > years back, when I kinda kept track of the VMax activity. The conversion would not, of course, be identical; but, if you could track some of these guys, or their helpers, down> on the Web -- I'd bet you'd get some useful tips. I had a VMax, new, in '89 .

Several of the motorcycle magazines had some good feature articles about these guys and their machines; and they generally stressed the importance of that conversion.............

Sure, Chris. How 'bout going over to the "feature testing" forum so we don't clutter up the tech discussion board. Try posting another one and we'll see if we can get you 'certified'.....

Is that fork angle extended, or is it lower and just looks extended?

                          Forks extended ?

Hi MartyA, it looks like the frame has been raked and the forks look shorter. Not sure just a guess.

I'd like to see someone sit on that thing. Is the shifter back there by the front of the rear wheel? Looks like it has an extention on it.

Tried one of those front metzelers one time and the bloody thing wore out quicker than the rear continental.
