  • Any suggestions on new tires

Hey everyone it's that time and I'm after new tires. Any ideas on what's good or better yet what's a good deal. Thanks Dustin

The two things everyone around here hates that's been here a while.. "What's the best tires" and "What's the best oil". Everyone has an opinion on it and it's been discussed and discussed EXTENSIVELY.

I hate when someone asks a legitimate question and someone just says, "Use the search feature!" But in this case, I will politely ask you to do so. After reading countless pages of peoples' opinions, if you have any further questions, then by all means, come back and ask.

    Thanks.

And a DEEP MOAN falls over the crowd!!! Like any good newbie to XS11, I asked the oil and tire questions myself at one point. Got the same answer, groans and moans.

Seriously, pic any manufacturer and you will find someone who loves it and someone who hates it, and a some that never used it.

Best advice, go with the brand your more familiar with. I have a few I like and go with the most economical of them at the time of purchase.

As to where to buy, typically, the cheapest option is to buy your tires online, and then have a local shop mount them, or if your really frugal (ie...a cheapazz) mount and balance yourself. Lots of options for where to buy, Motorcycle Super Store, got my last one from Dennis Kirk.

As to size, for a stock bike, on the rear, go with a 130/90 tire for the rim you have 16 or 17 depending. On the front, some run up to a 110/90/19. Most stick with the 100/90/19. The 110 can fit, but it is snug!
Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.

I personally prefer the round black ones that tend to hold air.

Shinko 712 and Bridgestone S11 are good less expensive choices, JMHO.

Yeah I'm sorry about asking. I tried to do some research on the forum and was reading a thread about how a tire company was having a 20 percent off sale and I believe crazysteve a member on the form was saying how this online store has them for 60 bucks all the time. I checked on the site and they dident have them. So the reason I was asking for suggestions was first I wanted to know if someone was gonna say if this tire is good or what they like. But what I really wanted was to find that deal. I know that when I'm interested in something I'm always looking for deals even if I don't need the part. I was Thinking that there might be some people here who keep an eye out and could recommend buying these tires at this website because it's a good deal. In the end I agree with the black ones that hold air. Thanks. Dustin

Has anyone noticed that Motorcycle-Superstore tire prices have increased a good amount? They used to be one of the cheapest.

You can still get a set of 712s for under $100 shipped.

When gas goes up so does everything else.

Ask anything you want. The crotchey effers on here can choose to ignore a post if they want to. It takes less energy to ignore than type a go search reply.
