  • Shinko model 777

Hey. I just noticed yesterday while I was working on my bike that my front tire is badly cupped. It is a Shinko Model 777. It only has just over 2k miles. I put it on right when I got my bike not even a year ago.

Just wanted to let people know that I didnt get very many miles on this tire.

But is it the tire or is it something else causing the cupping? Did you check everything over on your bike.

If it doesn't pull to one side or the other or show any other signs of alignment problems, make sure you have it inflated properly. I've had some of the softer compound tires start to scallop prematurely, especially when they are a bit underinflated. On my FZ1, which has some really soft compound tires, I put a couple pounds more in than Yamaha recommends. It does seem to give me more miles before I notice any wear problems.
