You do need the 'special' crimper for these to get the crimp right.

They do where I work ......I think in a factory site environment they are OK, I wasn't having a moan at them just trying to show the Japanese style connectors which are far better for our bikes.

Nightengale, you asked what electrical could be removed from the bike, the basic wiring diagrams I have done (and linked to) show what is required for basic electrics chop to run. The chop diagram has twin headlights coz the customer asked for them, I advised against running twin 55/60W bulbs, simply remove them from the diagram.
do you still have that diagram in full size that you might be able to send me?

thanks for the help, i have a friend that specializes in building wiring harness to help this weekend, and i am going to use your diagram and it will have a single headlight.
i just wanted to thank everyone for their help. i couldn't get through this project without everyone on here helping out with all this great info. thanks again, i will be putting up some pics on my build thread this weekend on the wiring and how i am going to hide them in the faux oil tank. i also might be able to start her up this weekend wish me luck.
