  • More PO woes

Last summer I had a petcock leak, so I ordered a rebuild kit from george fix. Yesterday I disassembled my petcocks only to find out they are not the original, or even for a xs1100 from what I can tell . So the rebuild kit I have is useless. So I was wondering if anybody would have an idea what these are meant for.

I also don't know if I should order the original petcocks or find a kit for these. I also had problems with the carbs overfilling last summer and getting into the air box. Could this happen because of the wrong/leaky petcocks. I set the floats on the carbs a few times and the problem still exist. Any Ideas would help, Thanks

The overflowing of the carbs is from the float needle valves not seating properly. You need to address those first.

No idea on the petcock issue.

I was helping a friend reinstall his tank after a paint job and your petcock looks alot like his. He has a 81 kawasaki 440 b1. But I imagine they all look alike.

If they have been working, except of course for the leak, you could buy the proper kits if you can ID them for sure. I have both sides for a standard here, but they would need the kits as well. Might also be a bike wrecker in your area that may have the correct ones.
