Air pilot jet problem

Hello

Planning a trip to the north this summer. Starting to work on my bike in prep. Since I'm new at this I decided to give my self a lot of time. Good thing,......How does one remove the air pilot jets that are so olds an rusted they chip when you put a screw driver to them. I presently have then soaking in a bit of liquid wrench.

Any suggestions?

I had one in that condition in my 78. I used a very thin easy out to remove it. Ordered a set of new pilot jets and replaced all the old ones.

I hear that "reverse drill bits" are a better choice than easy outs. If you do go with an easy out, use the biggest one that will safely work without getting into threads. If you break off an easy out, it will be anything BUT easy out!
