    Pic didn't work

But if you should need any ignition parts, I have two sets for sale. If you're interested, write me at xs11parts@hotmail.com and we can talk about it there. One guess on the source of the corrosion could be that there is no gasket between the timing cover and the crankcase or a cracked cover. Ok, that's two guesses.

thanks, i almost have this photo posting thing down. i checked and the gasket on this cover and itseemed to be intact but somehow the moisture was still getting in. this is the only place i found this problem. any ideas on cleaning it up short of running emory cloth or fine grit sp over everything?

          Moisture source

Another guess on the source: How about the grommet in the case the around the vacuum line where it enters the engine? Maybe it's condensation. Do you live in a high humidity area? I've been riding my 80SG since 91, and have never noticed any moisture, or corrosion, and both XJ's that I'm parting out didn't seem to have any corrosion problems.
