  • Front Brake flushing

ok, I have removed and cleaned my calipers, and have found much spooge/apple sauce looking goop everywhere. Inside the piston chamber as well as behind the square profile o-ring. I will be buttoning things up this weekend, and wondered if I should try to flush the m/c with denatured alcohol or anything.

FWIW, I don't think that my front master cylinder is OEM. Originals appear to have translucent off white bodies, and this one is all black.

    Thanks, Eric

No need to flush with anything but brake parts cleaner and clean brake fluid. Be sure you take that MC apart though, to get all that goop out! Is the resevoir a metal housing? That's how the LH was made, and MikesXS sells them that way too. Much better design IMHO.

Hi Marshall. How is my old Windjammer holding up? My m/c is exactly like the one that you posted. I'll bet that the po got it from Mike's. Thanks for the tip.

It's still on the bike, right outside my office right now! It got a couple of cracks when I laid it down last fall, and I managed to stain it a bit with Brake Parts Cleaner. I added an HID headlight to it, and LED signals, and it's working great!
