So as I stated before, the problem started when I installed LED tail lights. However, I just noticed that when I replaced my starter cover the pressure sender wire was pinched a bit. I removed the connector to see if the light would stay off, and it did, but why moving it around the light would blink, shorting somewhere.

I had an extra wire from my parts bike and threw it on. (Not exactly that easy without removing the carbs). Now the light turns off with the bike running and the LCU removed.
Ok, that wire grounding will cause the light to go on, as the pressure switch is a grounding device when no oil pressure is present.

So, must the LCU be hooked up for the Pressure switch to work? OR Do I just have to jump the blue wires and not use the LCU? I'm just not sure what everyone means by "bypassing" it.
No, the LCU is for the tail light bulb check. Bypassing it means taking it off the bike and jumping wires in the bike's harness plug. Jumping the blu and blu/yel wires gives power to the tail light bulb.

With the LCU removed, the pressure switch will not work unless the blue wires are jumped? Is that correct? If so, why does the OIL light come on when the pressure switch wire is connected, and doesn't when it isn't?
Yes, it will work, your tail/brake light won't work if the LCU is disconnected.
The LCU controls the brake/tail light only, it just shares the oil warning dash light with the oil pressure switch on the engine

It seems to be working regardless of the LCU. Or isn't it actually checking it?[/QUOTE]

Your problem was probably the wire you replaced on the engine that was shorting to ground. Hope I have cleared things up for you and you have solved the problem.

      Lcu

      Thanks a lot Phil,
Clear as crystal. I believe you are correct that the wire was shorting to ground, actually I know it was. However, the light still stays on with the LCU hooked up. Be it becuase of the LED's or that the unit is bad, I don't really care. I didn't realize my lights wouldn't work without the blue wires jumped, will have to take a look at that tonight. Again, thanks for the help.

Just one thing to clarify, the brake light should still operate without the LCU in the line but the running light will not. Jumping the blu and blu/yel together in the bike's harness will allow current for the running light to operate without the LCU.
