..quit working on the way back from a ride today. Speedometer works just fine but no odo.
Is there an easy fix for that? I don't want to tear this thing apart.

Hey Greg,
My OEM speedo Odometer quit working after only ~900 miles!! My bike was NEW to me, 17 miles when acquired, but was already 2+ years old, so out of warranty replacement time!
I rode it for 9 years that way using the tripometer which still worked for gas monitoring. I estimated I put on some 50k miles that way before doing my rebuild and putting on a used 650 speedo with a working ODO!

Neither the odo or the trip meter is working. Speedo works fine.
I wouldn't really care but my low fuel light only works when it wants to.....
......sigh....I guess I'll have to work on it.
I've had a couple of good years without having to do anything. Can't complain too loudly.

As you probably know, the speedo is magnetically driven and the odometer is gear driven. That's why on my XJ, the speedo is WAY off, but the odometer is pretty accurate.Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
