    Update

Figured I'd update on my 'bulb' issue.

Turns out it was the connector for the pilot box not fully mated up after I installed the newer gauges.

Pushed it together better and wow it works again.
    No blown bulbs!
WOW, can 30yr old bulbs really last that long?!?!
I do like the idea of going to LEDs, but I'm getting too used to my auto cancel unit.
I might forget to turn my signals off after a turn/lane change. LOL!
I'd be one of those farts that travels down the interstate with my blinker on for over a mile. LOL!

Changing the dash/gauge bulbs won't so anything to the self cancelers as long as everything else is up to snuff. Some have had changes when they changed out the turn indicator bulbs but others have not.

Or you coud just do Cy's mod and create a new flasher unit that allows for the LED bulbs AND keeps the auto-cancel unit. Works great for me!

I do foresee Cy's mod in my future at some point.
(maybe when I get my SG up and running, then I'll take the G down for a major overhaul.)
I do like the LEDs for brightness.
I sure want to make sure those cagers out there see my turn signals and other lights!
