  • Will these work?

I have a 1980 SG special. These seals are supposed to be right for my bike. However, the dust seals are totally different. Will the dust caps work even though they are different? Or should I find ones closer to OEM dust seals?

    Thanks

These are the correct (and better priced) seals for your special.http://www.ebay.com/itm/79-81-XS1100...item2c5d0daa3b if you need dust boots Georgefix probably has those also but I don't see them posted you just need to contact them.

I have an email out to the seller to get the size of those seals. I just wondered about the dust caps. The ones on my dad's honda look like that but mine are totally different. I just didnt know if those flat ones would work.

That's probably just a generic picture the seller put up. georgefix is an extremely trustworthy seller and is great to work with. You really should go through him. IMHO

Will do. I didn't see any dust seals though. Parts n more have them. Says they are for the "L" which is the midnights if I read right. They should be the same.

Yup, those should fit. Go ahead and message georgefix about the boots though and ask. If he doesn't have them he will know where to send you.

You can go to Power Sports Plus , fill in the year and model of your bike. On the right side of the screen, you'll see a link to aftermarket parts for your bike. There you will find several brands of seals for your forks and they also have the dust seal in OEM. They have OEM oil seals as well. I'm sure GeorgeFix is fine, and my experience with Parts-n-More has been good.
