    Fully agreed.

    I actually did state all mixture screws were out 2 turns but #1 since it's stripped. After riding for 2.5 hours and adjusting idle back to 1100 from 1000 the bike runs better than it ever has. Rock solid needle at 1100. Pure power from any RPM. It's a beautiful thing.

    I'm really glad to have been exposed to the problem areas through other's suggestions however. It's been a good experience, and a necessary one. I also learned a lot from searching past forum posts on various subjects. The wealth of knowledge here is truly incredible and reduces troubleshooting time incalculably.

    2006 Yamaha XT-225. Yep, I take it on the interstate. It's Blue Butt.

    1982 Toyota 4x4. 22R Cammed, 38/38, 2" pipe, 20R head with OS valves, performance grind and other fun stuff. It's Blue RASPberry.

    1969 Ford F-250 Camper Special resto project. 390 RV cam, Demon carb, Sanderson headers, 2 and a quarter pipes with Magnaflow mufflers. It's Blue Jay.

      thanks for posting this ,,i had the same problems and went through the process of elimination to the point of giving up !! when a phone call from the tinman said Mo its your ballast resistor! so with your help and that of my buddy James problem solved and bike runs strong thanks to all ,,ride safe slow mo!
