  • Hard ChromeFRONT FORK TUBE STANCHIONS

    I'm travelling to Los Angeles from Sydney Australia early April, can anyone help with recommending a shop which does hard chrome for motorcycles? Front forks are pitted and just want to bring then back to new. Before you all go!!! why would you go to the trouble, quote was $800 for rebuild of the forks, hard chrome fork tube stanchions, polishing front forks and replacing seals.

    Any help would be appricated.

    Would think that 800 bucks is not a bad price for the work being done. Theres a lot involved in chroming and it doesnt come cheap no matter where you are.
    1980 SG. (Sold - waiting on replacement)
    2000 XJR1300. The Real modern XS11. Others are just pretenders.

      Why not buy new fork tubes?

      I saw the following on another forum regarding Franks:

      I emailed Frank's Maintenance and Engineering, Inc. (Forks by Frank) about re-chroming my pitted fork tubes. Their response was;

      "Pitted tubes will not rechrome.
      A new set of 1981 KZ1000 K1 Ltd tubes is $259.00
      UPS COD shipping is about $24.00"
