    Hi Joab,
like the last time you whined about this, roll the bike back so the rear wheel is on top of a short piece of 2 x 6. With that 1-5/8" start the bike should lift the rest of the way easily enough. A thought; rig up a temporary grab handle with a double loop of tie-down strap hooked to the rear shocks.
BTW, do H-Ds even come with centre stands?

I have an unfair advantage but the technique should be similar (I'm 350 LBS and 6'). I grab the bike by the left hand grip and by the remains of the grab bar just behind the rear shock on the left side of the bike and then stand on the lever of the center stand as I lift on the grab bar and the bike lifts onto the center stand pretty easily, actually in my case almost entirely from the weight on the lever of the center stand. Standards do have a bit of an advantage in that their rear tire is just barely off the ground when on the center stand where specials are a couple inches off the ground on the center stand. As several have mentioned, putting the rear tire up on something an inch to 2 inches thick will help a LOT to make life easier, finding either a grab bar or lift handle will help as well, as the grab bar can work as a lift handle pretty well in most cases.

Technically, I was whining about it at the same time, just in two different places

I do it like Cy. You will feel more control once you do it right. I can even do it with tennis shoes, but boots are definately better.

Right more controls the rate of movement so the bike does not slam back.
That is how my Dad always did it. His right Leg was amputated 6 inches below the knee due to a Land Mine in Nam. So he didn't have the leverage with his prosthetic to do it from the side. He would stand over the bike with left foot on center stand. rock it back and forth a few times to build a rhythm and pop it up on the stand.

I've tried this Technic a few times with no luck So i just do it the old fashion way. grab the center of the bars and under the seat and push like hell on the stand while pulling up on the seat and almost pushing down on the bars. It's worked so far.

Hey, it happens to the best of us .

I just wish my bike had a center stand. Maybe I just need to buy a motorcycle jack. I've got an auto CCT waiting to go in now, just need the time and gumption. Kind of scared of the job after all the horror stories I've read.
