  • New memeber and soon to be owner

    Hi all,
I've been lurking here for a couple weeks reading everything I can so that when I went shopping for an 1100 I'd be informed. Well I pulled the trigger and bought an 82 XJ with approx 10k miles. Picking it up on Saturday and will post pix. Its not my first bike but it is my first 4 cylinder bike. Its 200 miles from me and looks pretty clean from the photos. Talked to the current owner today and he sounds like a square shooter. I'm not new to buying things from a distance and no money changes hands until I get there.

Welcome! Be aware that the XJ is a different animal compared to the XS, so be sure to post your model in your signature or post when asking questions.

Good luck on finding the bike!

      Welcome!

You'll find all the help you'll ever need at this site.
I'm upriver at Davis ( Lake Summerset), right by the Wisconsin border.
Equized from POLO Il, is talking about getting a run going this summer. Get it ready. Even if no one gets arun going, there's always beautiful downtown Savanna for a meet-up. Bikers paradise on weekends. But help is needed in showing up all the HDs.

Yea I'm very familiar with Savanna. I rolled through there a couple times on my Honda last season and got a lot of dirty looks but I don't care. The 1800 VTX would hold up well against most of them, the XJ should be even more fun. I'd definitely be up for a ride, got a couple buddies here in the Quad Cities with their Honda's who might be interested. We are all kind of used to being the outcasts
