  • 80 special fork seals

So a few weeks ago I ordered some for seals for my bike. However, I just noticed that there are apparently two different sizes listed on the site. I'm thinking that one is for standards and one for specials. It looks like the only difference is one is 8mm thick vs. the other one is 10mm thick. I bought the smaller 8mm ones.

Will they still work? Or all the smaller ones only for the standards?

There should be 3 numbers on the seal, first number is the ID in MM, second is the OD, third is the height.

    Special seal 37X48X10.5
    Standard seal 37X49X8
    2H7 (79)
    3H3

How exact do these need to be? Will 1mm difference matter? I found some that are 36x48x10.5

        Hi Kade,
        your SG needs 37 x 48 x 10.5 seals.
the bore and outside diameters need to be right and nothing else will work, a 1mm difference will kill the job.
The 10.5 mm height is a maximum but thinner seals should be OK if they are all you can find.

One source for the right seals. HERE

Yes, I know the ad says 39, but what he ships is 37 MM. I have a message in to him to fix that. I have bought these and installed them.

Hey thanks guys. That was actually one of the sets I was looking at. What about the dust seals? Any good sources for those? Dealer wants 60 bucks for seals and dust boots. Think I might just find em elsewhere for that price.

P/N 23-1088, set of 2, $15. The item is listed incorrectly but should fit all Special forks if you cross reference the OEM P/N. They should be on page 2...
