  • XS1100E gets new lease on life

I took a road trip with my cousin up to Louisville, KY yesterday and today. It was a rescue mission. A "no title" XS1100E languishing outdoors. This one was destined to rot, or at best, be a parts bike. Here in GA it needs no title, so maybe it will live again.

    Happy new owner.

    Complete tour pack.

It's following us home! It was a fun trip

MArty, is that the one that was posted on here recently? It looks like a good project. Good condition. Glad to see you could give it a home and a way to be used and useful again!!

I think it was. I'm sure Jeff will chime in with the details.

If that ain't it, it must be a clone of it.
Good buy and hope it's as good as it looks...

              Great to live in GA!

Rescuing one without a title is hard to do. Lucky you guys are in Ga!

Sure looks like a great find that deserves renewing.

Awesome Jeff, you have the fastest of the XS's, 78E. Parts are fairly easy to find, most of the 79 Std parts will interchange.

It looked to me like all the parts were there. The side covers have cracks, but that's way better than broken or missing. That and the seat needs new duct tape looked the worst of it on short inspection. Much of it is near perfect.

Good luck on your new find. How do you go about registering a bike like that? In michigan that would be a bit tough.

In GA, we need a Bill of Sale and a VIN verification. The local deputy does the later. If it comes up clean, you can have a tag.

                          Nice pick!

That one should be relatively easy to restore from looking at the pics. Does the engine turn over? Looks like it has a Jardine muffler set on it. You can get replacement covers for the seat provided the seat pan is ok. Have fun and if I can be of any help, drop me a line.
