  • Just got new headlight and turn signals

okay. So I got my headlight and turn signals today, and i attempted to hook up the turn signals and ran into an issue. I turned on my left signal and it was blinking without a turn signal attatched to the front and the back one was blinking. When I plugged in my front turn signal, both back and front left turn signals stayed solid. I also did not even attempt to hook up the headlight yet because I don't know what wires connect to which. I'm npt sure what the little blue pieces are but they were clipped to some wires which I had to remove because I needed to take off the pigtail that was connected to the fairing. I took some pics of what I was working on.

Not sure about the fairing wiring, never owned one. For the headlight, on the stock wiring harness you will find a white three way connector with a green, yellow, and black wire in it. Those translate to the green, white, and blue connector in your bottom picture. That connector should plug directly to the back of the headlight itself. What you need is the opposite side of that stock electrical connector to attach the three wires from your pictured connector to, that will plug into the stock connector. Otherwise, you will need to splice those into the stock wiring.

As to the turn signals, that brown wire you show in the top picture should go to the positive side of your right turn signal. There should be a similar wire in dark green for the left side signal. The blue wire (in a stock setup) would have a splitter on it and go to both left and right turn signals for the parking light function.

    Hope that helps you out.

So ends up the opposite connection was jumpled with all the other wires and actually fits the new headlight. But now my bike isn't recognizing that there isn't a headlight connecteded and is not supplying power to the headlight. The head lamp indicator isn't even glowing. I already replaced a fuse for it and it did nothing.
Scratch that actually. I actually replaced the blown fuse, with a previously blown fuse. I got the headlight hooked up and now I just need to get the turn signals to blink

My headlight only comes on after I've started the bike. Might try turning her over.

Do you have the manual and wiring diagram? There are blue wires that go to the running light, and then dark green or brown that go the turn signals. Of course they have to be grounded as well, but it looks like you have that down.

If the correct bulbs are lit, but not blinking, then it may be in your flasher unit, or you may not have the correct bulbs installed. It is about impossible to chase down electrical demons over the internet. So you just have to play follow the electrons till you find out where they are getting lose or being blocked.
