So I need some pics of how hard bags mount. I need to fab up some brackets to mount some "bags" to the back end. They will probably need to be a little excessively beef because I am using a pair of ammo cans for the bags (someday they will get painted to match but not today). Just need some pics of how and where they are supposed to mount so I have somewhere to start.

This is how i made my brackets started out with luggage rack and worked from there
where they mount on frame
rear mount.The only problem is they have to be held up when changing rear tire as they are the pivot for the fender

Nate, I sold all of my OEM hardbag stuff so no pics, but the mounting points for the stock bags were the upper shock mounts, the holes where the rear turns normally mount, and the rear footpeg mounts. The only thing 'trick' about this was they used a 'special' washer to go inside the turn hole to clamp the bracket. All this is is a washer slightly bigger than the hole diamenter with a flat on one side so you could turn it about 90 degrees to the hole to get it in there. Without the flat, it's too big.Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

all the stuff in the photos have been for the vetter hard bags except mine which is a refit of some Kawasaki bags. looks like you have the factory set which i have no idea how they hang. Sure other members can help with them.Current 1981 xs1100H
