I had a bad fouling problem on the number 4 cylinder using the stock bp6es plugs. I found some Splitfire plugs for the bike and it has greatly reduced (although not completely eliminated) the fouling. I hear that the Splitfires run a little hotter than the equivalent plugs from other manufacturers. Since I live in the Pacific "North - wet" it is a little cooler than other areas and I have had no problems even in the summer on long trips running these plugs. I have about 5000 miles on them and they are still going strong (clean them once in a while).

    Good luck.

A note about Iridium plugs...I changed to those on a Virago that always was a hard starter, thinking the lower voltage spark might be helpful, and it was! Starts right up now, and doesn't stall out at low idle. When I change out the XS next time, I'm converting, for much the same reason. They don't solve the low voltage, but make it do-able.
