  • AXU fuse

Sorry to start a new thread, and sorry I shared the fusebox thread, thought it would be helpful, not trying to make a repair that will last 100 years, just an improvment over the OEM. My Question, AXU outside fuse, do I need to move into the box or just leave it alone, 1979SF with no acc's on my bike

That is more personal preference than anything else. So far I have left the Aux off the fuse box on my bikes. I do like the option to add it into the fusebox if I want to though.

      Does it do anything

What I am asking is does it do anything on my bike or just a dead lead waiting to be hooked to something

If nothing is hooked to it then it's not doing anything yet and moving it to the fuse box would have no affect on anything. If you have something on that terminal then it might have an affect on that circuit. But if your not using that circuit it's not worth bothering until/unless you go to use that circuit.

            Hi OEM,
that separate AUX fuse is wired direct from the 30Amp main fuse so it's hot all the time.
It's for hooking up an accessory such as a clock or an anti-theft device that needs to be on all the time, not just when the key is on.
You can leave it "as is" or use one of the new fusebox's unused slots to serve the same function; your choice.

That auxiliary block runs to a small connector behind the fuse block. I just unplugged it there and taped over the connector and never put the block back on.

I use the 10A aux outlet for the two-pin SAE connector that came with the Slime air pump.

The air pump runs better connected next to the battery than it does using the cigarette lighter plug in the fairing and I have a 2A battery charger can use the same connector instead of clamps.

                  Thanks All

Thanks all, that is what I was thinking, I will leave it alone. I have a tender hookup I can use for temp acc stuff like air pumps and I will hook the GPS to the hot when key is on in the headilght to keep the wires short

That is where I connected wiring to the battery charger connector.

I found a power port that hooks right into the pigtail of your battery tender on flea bay for cheap. be a good thing for a Fella to have if you wanna run something else on the bike, ie compressor, cell phone charger. for under 10 bucks shipped be a good thing to have laying around

I'm with you on the headlight splice. I've got a grommet in the left side of my windjammer that looks tailormade for a cigarette lighter. my head light wiring runs up that side too short and simple. Plus when i turn the key off the thing will shut off. Still need to hook up my stereo remote wire so it'll shut off when i turn the key off. sometimes i forget to shut it off
