Aren't the Special's headlight fork ears the same part for all years?

I believe they may be the same. I used the ears and headlight assy from an 80 XS850 Special on my 80XS11 Special, and it looks just like the old parts that I replaced. I have found that quite a few pieces will interchange between the XS models.

I don't think my XS650 and XS1100 share ears. The brake rotors are the same. The XS750 and XS850 have smaller rotors. My XS650 SPECIAL shares brake calipers with XS750, 850, and 1100 standards, not SPECIALS. Intercanging parts requires doing some home work. A lot of stuff that looks the same, isn't.

The stock ears on my '78E are different than that offf of a '79F. At least the one's I got were. Had to make some modifications to make them fit.
