  • Carb kits from Parts N More

    Okay here's a question,
I was looking for some software stuff for my 80SG carbs and ran across this:
    http://www.partsnmore.com/parts/yama...itting]=custom
Parts N More has 2 different kits for $14, but one pic has more stuff than the other.
    #48-1408
    #48-1955

Have any of you ordered either of these?

All I really need is the gasket, float needle and seat(with oring) and a new oring for the idle mix screw. (times 4 of course)

Bump, I'm thinking of ordering this kit: #48-1955
    Anyone order this one before?
Does it really have all that's pictured?
(idle mix screw/washer/spring/o-ring, pilot jet, main jet, float needle/seat/o-ring, and gasket!

Seems like too much for one $14 kit!?!

I've been eyeing those kits too, but do note that you won't get a choice of jets so they may or may not be right for your particular application. But if your current jets are still good, these can save you a few bucks...

      '80SG restified, red SOLD
      '79F parts...
      '81H more parts...

I agree Steve. They say it's for an 80G, so Hopefully those are the right jets, but like you said, Mine are good, but even if they're the wrong size, then I can probably give them away to someone who needs those.

I'm about 90% convinced to order them. $14 times 4 is $56 I'd have to drop, but it's still cheaper than anywhere else I've seen for just the float seats/needles and gaskets alone.

After I do get them, I'll update this post and tell all what's what.

The way I look at it is even the kits from Georgefix don't come with 'correct' Mikuni jets, and the jets needles aren't 'right' either. The one item that usually needs replacing (besides the float valve and gasket) is the idle screw and it's hardware, and buying that and the gasket/float valve separately costs more than the kit...

I got the kits for my '79 BUT

I got kits from there for my '79 so not what you are looking at BUT. I got the kits with the most parts - for the same price, why not.

The pilot jets were wrong (4 holes instead of 3), also the main jets have 137 stamped on them not 137.5. The gaskets float needle etc. seem fine. Here is a pic of the box (which says "Made in Japan"), and the jets.

Thanks Scott. I think I'm still gonna order them, once they get back in stock.
