    Memphis Shades Hellcat

I want to mount a Memphis Shades Hellcat to my 80 SG but in the drop-down menues for the shield, the XS 11 doesn't exist. The closest I think I can come to it is the XV1100 Virago Special. Is there anyone out there who has mounted a Memphis Shades shield. If so, what did you use as a reference bike for ordering? I've mounted two other Hellcats to a 2006 VRSCD and a 2007 M109R and both seemed to have more than enough free play and length on the arms.

I had a Hellcat on my Special. Very briefly due to terrible buffetting regardless of how I positioned it. Sold it. It mounted easily as I recall.

This was much better and, I think, looks great

Buy the 'universal' version... you'll have to do some fitting, but these will come with brackets that will have more latitude in how you can install it. Sometimes you have to re-bend and/or shorten the struts to clean the install up. The struts are just 3/8" stainless steel rod, so if you don't want to mod the ones that come with it, make your own.
Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

'78E original owner - resto project
      '78E ???? owner - Modder project FJ forks, 4-piston calipers F/R, 160/80-16 rear tire
      '82 XJ rebuild project
      '80SG restified, red SOLD
      '79F parts...
      '81H more parts...

      '82 XL1000 w/1450cc Buell, Baker 6-speed, in-progress project
Cage: '13 Mustang GT/CS with a few 'custom' touches
      Yep, can't leave nuthin' alone...

Not trying to keep getting off topic, but do you think it'd look okay on a standard if I put in a round headlight, but left the blinkers on the forks? Would that cutout look out of place?

They make a square headlight one as well, or at least they used to.

I like the look of the round headlight and have a bucket to swap from a smaller xj (550 or so), so that's not an issue. I just don't know if the cut outs for the blinker stalks would look out of place if I leave the blinkers on the forks.
