Can you post a picture, and what year model the carbs are? I might have what you need.

Sorry it took so long, the only computer I can upload on crashed, just got it back.

This is what I'm searching for. If you look close you'll see it has only one c clip setting . the number stamped just under the c clip slot should end with a -16. This is from a set of 81 carbs. If you have one, how much and what type of payment do you wish? Send PM

Definitely looks to be an 81Special needle.......too short on taper to be the unobtanium 81Standard needle......

Mack, the '80/'81 Standard carburetors use a Mikuni 5IZ7 (Yamaha part# 360-14116-07-00) needle but good luck finding one. Unless you've changed the intake and exhaust they work with the staggered 115 outer/120 inner main jets.

The only new needles available are the Mikuni 5GL16 (Yamaha part# 452-14116-16-00 or a 3rd party knock-off) for the '80/'81 Specials and they work with the 110 main jets in all four carburetors.

                        Needle

Just a follow up. The needle I got in the mail has 5G4 stamped into it dispite the box being labled 452 14116-16-00/ 5GL -16. Not sure what it may be off, by the looks of it, probably a holly four barrel or something real big.

Mack, I dug up the gypsy spreadsheet with Mikuni needle dimensions I found online and it says that your 5G4 needle should have 5 adjusting slots so it's hard to say what you've got there.

If it's just a typo on the number of slots the 5G4 should be the same length as the 1980-81 5IZ7 Standard needle but a little thinner (richer) and with only one taper.
