  • under seat exhuast

I was talking to Rasputin the other day and he said that he remembered a guy that may have been in the Philippines and had modified an XS with an under seat exhaust system. I have an interest in seeing just such a modification and would like some help from anyone on the site who could direct me to the thread that he showed his bike on. Oh and by the way Rasputin also showed me the "5 minute carb removal technique," wow was that the bomb. I was trying to never have to remove my carbs until I did it last night. slick way to get things done.

I know the post he mentioned, but can't find it...

I will say that IIRC, this was doable because he also did a swingarm swap, maybe a monoshock conversion, and some fairly major frame mods. Not something you can easily fit to the OEM frame/swingarm...

            Throttle cable

Nice to see someone else removes the throttle cable when the carbs are half way out, much easer, and got nailed by someone on here when I recomended doing it that way, also, MUCH easer to get it back on halfway in

It's pretty much six of one, half-dozen of the other when you remove the throttle cable. Do it whichever way is easiest for you, just don't snag/rip the cable sheath.

Unless you have small hands with a couple of extra fingers, thumbs, and reversible joints it is definitely easier to put the end of the cable back into the throttle lever before seating the carbs back in the boots.
