Hi guys, sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread but 1st time here at the xs11/xj11 web site, I have just managed to put on the road a 1982 xj1100 imported to the UK in 1994, she's real nice and running "not too bad" have'nt got an air filter (but realise from your threads there not available anymore (I have'nt got the original either) I think I can get over that though, the real problem is I cant get a workshop manual for it over here, only for the xs1100,(wireing diagram bound to be different) do you see them for sale over in the US of A? Have to congratulate you on the site, real enthusiastic feel to it, GREAT!
    cheers

      Hi Clive,

Welcome to the madness... One of the members has the manuals posted for download, can't remember who off hand, but I'm sure someone will point you that way soon. You will be in need of a YICS Eliminator also, unless I have already sent you one that is.

          Hi Clive,
          And welcome...
I highly recommend Yahman's YICS eliminator, been running it on my '82 XJ and very satisfied with it. I'm currently doing a ground up resto and looking forward to finishing up within the next couple of months.

I never got around to making the tech tip that was done in a thread about using a K&N filter and attaching it to an old XJ Air Filter frame...but you needed the old air filter frame anyways...and you say you don't have an old filter at all!

You may have to convert to Pod Filters?

Would something like this not work? It's pricy, but so are good pods. eBay XJ1100 Air Filter

Note: I have no idea if that's even the right filter, I'm just going by description

Wow, I didn't even notice the seller had more than 10 available, I saw it and thought it was a single. Looks like boats.com has them also, for $41 + shipping. They don't have any availability listed, but I'm assuming it's in stock:

The Yamaha parts site doesn't have them shown as 'NLA', so maybe they ran off a batch....

This is clearly a preemptive message from Yamaha that they are reviving the XS/XJ line, and the new parts are 100% compatible with the old models! New stock exhausts all around!

                          Boats.net

Wow, I should have kept my Boats.net site to my self No really, been getting parts from them that you just cant find anywhere else, guess the BOAT thing throughs bikers off. They are a bit slow, but customer service is good, and itf you order something and want to add to your order later to save S/H cost, no prob, just call before shipped and they will hook you upThey still have OEM XS1100SF fork seals too

Nah, I've been using boats.net for years, my brother in law restores bikes and boats both, and they have parts for basically everything. Their inventory can be weird sometimes, it's not always accurate as to what they have in stock, but that's the only bad thing I can say about them. Secret is safe with me

                              Here are some more:

                              www.yamahasportscenter.com
                              www.ronayers.com

Run the numbers. You'll find both of these cheaper than boats.net.

Here is the Yamaha motorcycle parts side of boats.net:

                              Power Sports Plus

This site is great because when you look up a part, it will tell you every motorcycle it is used on.

Re: the XJ filter. The eBay seller is Speed and Sport. Anything they have that is NLA triples the price. Since they're below list, I don't think the part is NLA.

Yamaha Sports Center price on that filter is $28.97. You're welcome!
